Is Blackwell looking for a conflict of interest?

The Cincinnati Enquirer reported yesterday that Republican gubernatorial candidate and current Ohio Secretary of State, Ken Blackwell is part of the group that is buying the Cincinnati Reds. I've been a Blackwell supporter, but will admit that I'm flummoxed by his decision to be involved with a major corporate entity which could have business dealings with the state. I understand that President Bush was a part owner of the Texas Rangers. However, a key difference is Bush was not in government service or running for an elected office at the time.

Looks like he is following his own pattern of confliction.
He was after all the sec. of state and head of the bush re election committee.

You do not give up your citizenship when you get elected. I assume that his lawyers have already looked at that angle.

I'm not saying he did anything illegal. Something doesn't need to be illegal to be a poor choice. Why give any ammunition to your opponents? Especially since he is from the same party as the current administration which has been linked to various ethical lapses.

I understand, but in the current climate, I fear that irrational restrictions will be placed on public servants.

What we need is a good house cleaning, not silly laws and mudslinging. That said, I'm wearing my boots.
