I would love to see Thompson throw his hat into the ring. He would really shake up the race, and I think spell the final blow to McCain.

Concur. Giuliani, McCain, Romney, Clinton, Obama, and Edwards are spending and taking hits a long time before the first votes are cast. I could see someone step in late on either or both sides in late Summer. The other advantage to not be running so early is he is not having to commit to specifics.

i don't know much about Thompson, but I like what little I do know.
To be honest, none of our others candidates just knock me over as a clear cut winner.
Would/could Thompson win the general election?

I even think Tommy Thompson would be a good candidate. I wish he would get more press.
