Indians stick fork in Twins

As they say, "Stick a fork in 'em, they're done." The Twins showed up in Cleveland Friday needing a sweep to revitalize their dwindling Wild Card hopes. Instead they got swept and left town 8 1/2 games behind the Indians with 20 games remaining on the schedule.

This is a big week for the teams fighting for the Wild Card

The Yankees who are one game back play three games against the Devil Rays in Tampa Bay.
and
The Oakland A's trailing by 2 1/2 games visit Cleveland for three games.

It'd be nice. But it's not gonna happen. Chicago has 20 games left and we have 19. If they win ten that would give them 97 wins. We would have to go 15 and 4 to catch them. Basically, we would have to sweep the White Sox twice and play .650 ball against the rest of our schedule. Ozzie is goofy but he would need to over manage on a Gene Mauch scale to blow this lead. Other than the 6 against us every game Chicago has left is against teams who are done (KC, DET and Twins).
