Al Gore demonstrates why we should be thankful
When Al Gore makes a public speech he is also reminding us just how thankful we should be that he was not elected president in 2000. Yesterday, he gave a screed decrying the fact that the current administration has taken action to detect potential terrorist attacks prior to the attack being carried out.
Former vice president Al Gore accused President Bush of breaking the law by authorizing wiretaps on U.S. citizens without court warrants and called on Congress yesterday to reassert its oversight responsibilities on a "shameful exercise of power" by the White House. "The president of the United States has been breaking the law repeatedly and insistently," Gore said in a speech at Constitution Hall in Washington. "A president who breaks the law is a threat to the very structure of our government."Each time a Democrat goes off and complains about NSA listening to terrorists' phone calls they send a message to voters not to trust them with national security.
Here are a couple other articles on Gore's speech:

America is a land of laws. A Constitution and a President who swears to uphold the laws.
In times of war, our Republic is at its greatest stress. We cannot let down our guard against those who choose to place themselves above the law, whether they be a regular citizen or the President of the United States.
I for one am not thankful that Gore lost to Bush.
Nor do I condone lawlessness by anyone in our society.
As a conservative, I would think you too would be in favor of law and order.

To Bob,
Does Lasalomos Lab and China and nuclear secrets ring a bell with you? If my memory serves me correctly nuclear secrets were sold out to China during the Clinton/Gore reign of terror.
Turning wiretaps into partisan politics is just plain ridiculous. Let us keep Al Gore hugging trees, and allow President Bush to keep on protecting us from terrorists.
